Dining room shopping :-)

We recently moved into an apartment with a nice dining space - a rare thing in Uganda these days. Anywho, I'm doing a little window shopping for a dining table. We want a table that seats six- in anticipation of the little ones that will be popping out :) Take a look at some of the ones we have our eyes on and let me now what you think.

My new love...

I'm falling in love - with basketball!!!!! Anybody who knows me knows that I don't like anything to do with sports. The reason is I don't like sweat!!!!! I don't like it on me and I don't like seeing it on other people because sweat means I get sticky and smelly. Watching people play a game (whatever game it may be) has never been interesting to me because they get sweaty and I think there are way too many emotions involved. Well, all that has changed.

My husband took me to watch a basketball game a week ago- he used to play basketball in the FIBA league. I did not think I'd enjoy it much because I don't know the first thing about basketball but boy did I get the shock of my life. I had sooooooooooooooo much fun!!!!!!!! It's a super cool game and now I have no clue why people make so much noise about football - they should be watching basketball!!!!!!! I'm so in love with the game right now. I've watched two more games and I don't want the play-offs to end!!!!! I'm even ignoring the sweat!!!!!! Well ok sometimes I cringe when I see a player wiping the sweat off with his uniform but oh well...I even find myself becoming the emotional wreck that screams at the players and jumps for joy when my team scores- it's crazy I tell you.

Basketball, I think I'm really going to enjoy this relationship :-)

Rebekah and Isaac

I went to bible study on Monday and we read a passage on Rebekah and Isaac that reminded me of the time when I was walking down the aisle....
Genesis 24: 63-64; "He went out to the field one evening to meditate,[f] and as he looked up, he saw camels approaching. 64 Rebekah also looked up and saw Isaac."

I think it was so sweet that when they both looked up the first thing they saw was each other. It also reminded me that in my marriage I should only have eyes for my husband- just like I did on my wedding day. Nobody else should steal my focus.

Another thing that got our attention is that Isaac had gone to meditate when he looked up and saw Rebekah. He had his focus set on God and then he found his wife. God gave me my husband and if I focus on God I will enjoy my marriage to the full because He is the author - He knows exactly how it should go!

It also amazed me that Rebekah and Isaac experienced what I did on my wedding day - feeling like they were the only two people who existed. They experienced it centuries ago and I experienced it 6 months ago - God's design surely is the same yesterday, today and always!!!!

This post goes out to all those who have experienced that feeling and will always look back on it with fondness. May it remind you that God is in your marriage and His way of doing things is always the best.

Baby love

I LOVE BABIES!!!!!!! I don't have any of my own yet but I'm looking forward to it. For now I'm that person who smiles at every cute baby I see while I'm walking down the street. I particularly adore little girls - I think they look cute in almost anything.
Today, a friend of mine had a baby girl and I'm so excited coz it means I have one more baby to dote on :)

So in honor of my love for babies I decided to post a picture of my adorable nephew - I think he's the cutest thing this side of heaven!!!!
