Friday unseriousness...

This morning it happened to be just the girls in the office and so we decided to go a bit crazy and help each other apply some makeup. Yes, I know - we're supposed to be working but hey it's Friday.

Meet my workmates:

1) This is Fiona. She doesn't like applying makeup in the morning because she doesn't have time for it. She feels funny wearing lipstick. Mission 1: For her to learn to apply her eye shadow, eye liner and lipstick in about 10 minutes so she can look fabulous all day long.

 Mission 1 accomplished :-)

2) This is Maureen. This is the fashionista but she needed just a little nudge towards eyeshadow. And guess who helped her apply it - me!!! Shocker huh? Yeah...it shocked me too! Mission 2: To make her see that eyeshadow makes her eyes pop just a bit more. Here she is:

Mission 2 accomplished!

3) And last, but not least, moi! I don't wear lipstick. I think it makes my lips look huge. Mission 3: To show me that my lips look fantastic with lipstick. Here goes:

Mission 3 accomplished!

All in all, our Friday morning has been quite unserious on the work front but rewarding on the beauty front :-)and we're taking everything we learnt here seriously :-D

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!!!!

Busy week....

January and February are rather slow months... at least in Uganda they are. Everybody is still in the holiday mood in January and then we had elections in February which provided some public holidays. But now, work is back in full swing. This week is busy! Well, actually it may not be that busy but it feels busy because work had been a bit slow and I'm still not feeling too good so my energy levels are not so high.

Anyway, I found a few things that made my week a little bit easier.
My babies are growing so fast!!!!! I don't want them to grow up :-(

Aren't they cute?? And growing too fast!!!! I can still remember each one of them as day-old babies! I'm getting old :-(

Each time I feel overwhelmed I just take a look at these photos and my spirits are lifted!

Now I have to get back to work! Hope you're all having a good week.

December - the unproductive month...

I don't know if anyone else feels the same way but it is sooooooooooo hard for me to concentrate on work in December. I feel like I should be winding up the year by relaxing at home and not having to deal with irritating clients. (I believe that to be a client you have to have some level of incompetence - which of course is the reason you'd come to me to cater for that small bit of incompetence. I know that many times I'm the client but I want to believe that I'm not a bad client who makes my incompetence that obvious :))
Anyway, I just can't seem to concentrate! I'm trying - believe me I am but I'm too excited!! I'd much rather be:

Shopping!!! And yesterday I did just that. I stepped out at lunch time and went to buy a new bag and shoes - it helped A LOT!!!!!
Cooking :) I recently discovered the Food Network Channel and I'm hooked! So many great recipes and no time to try them out :-( Do I really need to be at work? The kitchen is so much more exciting!
Playing with my adorable little nephew! I miss him so much!!!!!!
But most importantly I'd love to be relaxing with my hubby. I LOVE his company (that's the way it's supposed to be right? :))
My point is I think December is an unproductive month and we need to get the whole month off :-D Who's with me?  But seeing as that will never happen I'm going to keep trying to stay focused on my work, and I'll try to be nice to the client who drives me up the wall (Lord, help me!)
Now I'm really looking forward to next week when we break off for Christmas. Thank God for a boss who feels the same way about December! He's not riding us as hard as he usually does :-)
